Clear Creek ISD: Gifted & Talented Program and Services

Clear Creek ISD's program for gifted and talented students is designed to serve those who perform or show potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience or environment. Clear Creek ISD program is based on general intellectual ability.

The Gifted and Talented Program uses a variety of instructional models for gifted students including: pull-out sessions, cluster grouping, mixed-ability classes with differentiated instruction, acceleration, mini-courses, advanced placement, independent study, and mentorship programs.

Clear Creek ISD teachers and staff members who work with gifted students receive at least 30 hours of GT training, plus the required 6 hours annual update. The curriculum for gifted students is adapted and differentiated in the following ways:

  • Student Interest – offering some choice in learning experiences
  • Pace – moving fast enough to keep them motivated & challenged
  • Breadth – going wider in scope / enriching
  • Depth – digging deeper into the topics
  • Complexity – tying knowledge in with other ideas
  • Creativity - playing around with concepts – innovating
